Dawn Reed Finds Joy in Service Following Tragedy

Dawn is Always There Home Care’s Director of Care Coordination. She is also president/founder of Jayden’s House Inc. This organization’s mission is to raise awareness for window safety, prevention of accidents and to provide education to reduce the annual number of window injuries and fatalities.

Dawn’s ultimate goal is to build and manage a community center for youth (5 years- 18 years old) in need of support, peer mentoring educational programs and to continuously raise awareness in order to prevent window injuries.

Jayden’s House Inc. is a tribute to Dawn’s nephew Jayden who tragically lost his life 5 years ago at the age of two due to a window injury.

Dawn’s passion is driven by the needs of urban youth. While the establishment of a thriving community center is her ultimate goal, in the meantime she and her supporters have been actively involved in
youth related community actives as VSOY
(Valley Save Our Youth) back to school rally and others.

In fact, Dawn’s group will sponsor the Care for Kids Youth Day Carnival Event Aug 30th 1p-6 pm on the New Haven Green.

Over the past four years Jayden’s House, Inc. has been sponsoring JHOP (Jesse Hardy Outreach Program). Jesse’s mission is to provide resources, clothing and food to the homeless and families in need.

Throughout the summer, The New Haven soup kitchen closes early for a two-week period during the month of July, leaving many without an evening meal. In order to fill this gap, JHOP gathers the support of different non-profit organization volunteers to assist with this program.

Every year, Jayden’s house volunteers assist in feeding the homeless during this time. The owners of Always There Home Care, Regina and Kelly McNamara are proud to be event sponsors. This year presented a unique challenge. Instead of the typical turnout of 50 to 100 people, the event planners expected to see 150 to 200 people in need of meals.

With the help of her loyal volunteers, Dawn managed to provide a healthy fulfilling meal to everyone in line.

For the volunteers, touching over 200 lives that day was a unique and humbling experience. It is this passionate commitment that drives Dan and her intrepid supporters.

Dawn’s mission is to build the community center in honor of Jayden to provide an environment where children “can soar and receive opportunities that will contribute to their success in life”

While they build toward Jayden’s House, Dawn and her volunteers will support like-minded community groups. They will continue creating change and leaving Jayden’s imprints.
